Historia Willi Słoneczko to niezwykła podróż w czasie.

The story of Willa Słoneczko is a remarkable journey through time. In the heart of Szklarska Poręba stands a house with soul, surrounded by mature trees and welcomed each morning by birdsong and the gentle murmur of a nearby stream.

From its earliest days, the property proudly served as a guesthouse, with a history reaching back to the beginning of the 20th century. Its first known mention appears in the 1903 guidebook “Schreiberhau seine Geschichte, Natur und Beschreibung”, which highlights its rich heritage and importance in the region’s history.

Once known as Villa Berliner Hof, founded by Emil Reimann, it was already enchanting guests with its unique atmosphere around 1901. The guesthouse was most likely built between 1899 and 1901 and, from the very start, promised not only comfort but also an exceptional sense of peace and quiet.

Advertised as a villa “in the middle of a beautiful garden,” with a convenient location and an atmosphere ideal for pleasant, restful stays, it quickly earned a reputation as a place where every moment encourages relaxation and renewal.

After a few years, Anna Anwand and Alice Hayn took over the management and changed the property’s name. At that time, guests could enjoy sixteen heated rooms with the option of full board, as well as access to a shared dining room and a common lounge/sitting room.

The property stood out for its modern amenities: it featured electric lighting, modern bathrooms, and heated rooms and corridors, making it an ideal place to welcome guests all year round.

On old postcards, the name Haus Gradel also appears. However, due to the lost archives of Szklarska Poręba, this part of our home’s story remains an undiscovered chapter.

In the post-war years, the building served as a Military Holiday Home (Wojskowy Dom Wypoczynkowy). For a long time, together with WDW Śnieżynka and WDW Wysoki Kamień, it formed the Military Recreation Complex in Szklarska Poręba. In 2009, the property was put up for sale and came into our hands—so it could once again operate as accommodation for guests.

Over the years, the villa has undergone many changes, yet its spirit and character have remained unchanged, attracting visitors looking for something special: a blend of history and comfort, and closeness to nature. We invite you to experience this unique place—where the past meets the present.

We take care to preserve the villa’s historic character and unique atmosphere while introducing modern amenities that enhance our guests’ comfort. Please note that the building’s structure is mainly wood, stone and brick. We’ve used various solutions to reduce noise as much as possible, however the rooms are not fully soundproof and the floors may occasionally creak.
